I don’t mean to brag… But I made the BEST MEAL EVER for dinner this week.
That is according to my 8 year old.
What is this meal you may ask?
Shrimp. Pizza.
No. I don’t mean homemade shrimp pizza.
And no, I don't mean fresh shrimp.
I don't even mean pre-made pizza dough with fresh toppings.
I mean frozen cheese pizza with popcorn shrimp!
We did, however, have the addition of Kroger brand Mozzarella and Parmesan shredded cheese.
My RAVING review!
My son is 8 years old and he is a PICKY eater (this may be an understatement). Food is too hot or too cold, it is burnt if it has even the faintest color of black. He may like eggs today but they will probably be disgusting by tomorrow and the mention of meat is an automatic dislike.
Do you have a child like this? If you do, you may understand the excitement of a raving review from the worst food critic!
From the moment my son took his first bite, he began his raving review...
"This is so good!"
"This is the best meal ever!"
"Mom! You have never made a meal this good!"
"Of course I want a second piece, I told you this is the best!"
"You need to save the leftovers!"
Yes, you read that right... I have never made a meal as good as frozen pizza with popcorn shrimp and store brand shredded cheese. But I am real, and I am a mom, and a win is a WIN!
But you have to remember in life that there’s a positive to every negative and a negative to every positive.

I am real, and I am a mom...
I have an 8 year old food critic.
I also have a 10 year old food critic and a 6 year old food critic.
My BEST. MEAL. EVER. received it's raving review from one child while...
- My 10 year old didn’t like shrimp ON his pizza. He removed the shrimp and ate the pizza and shrimp separately.
- My 6 year old didn’t like the shrimp at all. She removed the shrimp and ate the pizza only.
If you have the solution for mother's everywhere on how to get all your children to enjoy the same meal, please share!
Until then...
I will take my win as a WIN.
